Welcome! Meet Bethany.
Bethany Shaw is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. She's been creating as long as she can remember. She graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University and went on to have jobs in graphic design. Eventually she left the office life to work on her own work and do freelance design. She spent years primarily as a screen printer, but recently rediscovered her childhood dream of becoming an illustrator. She now focuses on drawing, watercolor, and mixed media, both traditionally and digitally. She favors simplicity of line and color in her personal art. However, when she works on an illustration, she finds joy in the details, often treating her canvas almost as if she were creating a miniature world, finding joy in the details — dressing up her characters and placing them in their own special space.
She lives with her husband and two daughters in a nearly three-hundred-year-old house in Metrowest Massachusetts. Her studio is just outside her door in an old carriage house on the property.
